If I had one piece of advice for young designers, it’s this : Show. Don’t tell.

When a client asks for a change you think is going to look awful, you can try to talk them out of it. Sometimes, you end up sounding defensive, even if you’re not meaning to.

Here’s another approach.

Try it.

Try what they’ve asked for.

Design is subjective. It might look great. 🤷

While you’re mucking about in the file, create an alternative option. It often doesn’t take much longer and your client will be grateful you’re using your creative brain.

After all, that’s fundamentally what they’re paying you to do.

Showing is powerful.
