It’s time to update Google Analytics

Google Analytics logo

A reminder if you have Google Analytics on your website, you need to update *soon* to Google Analytics 4 (GA4 for short).

The new version (Universal Analytics) is live, with the current analytics scheduled to stop tracking on 30 June 2023. Historical data will only be available for six months after that date.

Do I need to update now?

You could wait to make the switch, but there’s a good reason not to – if you compare your current website performance with past years, you’re going to need to set it up soon, so that historical data starts building up.

How do I get started?

Pay an expert (Melinda Samson at Click Winning Content is the biz), or diy by following the wizard Google provides after you’ve logged in to your account.

Tip: Make sure you check your data feed is running correctly a few days or a week afterwards.

You can run GA4 in parallel with Universal Analytics until the 2023 deadline.
