Why you should buy alternative versions of your business’ domain name

Typing ‘AGDA’ into an internet search bar usually leads to the Australian Graphic Design Association’s website. This time, it didn’t.

Instead, it turns out there’s an Australian Garage Door Association’s website (same acronym, different association).

One has the .com.au. The other has the .org.au.

If you need a reason to buy alternative versions of your business’ domain name, this might be #1.

Sure, you’re not likely to get these two organisations confused, but what if a competitor had the same business name, with a different domain suffix?
